HaloText is a free educational service that sends actionable Helpful advice via text message. Each tip is written and reviewed by licensed insurance professionals to help you understand auto, health, home, and life insurance coverage, save money, and make informed decisions.
Who writes the advice?
All advice are written and reviewed by licensed insurance professionals with years of industry experience. We don't use marketing copywriters—only experts who understand the nuances of insurance coverage and can provide practical, accurate advice.
Is HaloText affiliated with any insurance companies?
No. HaloText is an independent educational service. We don't sell insurance, receive commissions from insurers, or promote specific companies. Our only goal is to help you understand insurance better so you can make informed choices.
What types of insurance do you cover?
We provide advice and guidance on all major insurance types: auto insurance, health insurance, home insurance, and life insurance. Our content covers everything from understanding deductibles to choosing coverage amounts and saving money on premiums.

Is HaloText really free?
Yes, HaloText is completely free. There are no hidden fees, premium tiers, or paywalls. We believe insurance education should be accessible to everyone. Standard text messaging rates from your mobile carrier may apply, but we never charge you for advice or access to our content.
Will you ever start charging for the service?
We have no plans to charge for HaloText. Our mission is to provide free insurance education. If we ever introduce premium features in the future, the core Text tip service will always remain free.
Do I need to provide credit card information?
No. We only need your phone number to send Text advice. We never ask for payment information because the service is free.
Messages & Content
How often will I receive messages?
Message frequency varies based on relevant advice and updates. We respect your time and won't flood your phone—just helpful messages you can read in under a minute whenever they arrive. Typically, you can expect a few messages per week.
What time of day will I receive messages?
Messages are typically sent during daytime hours (9 AM - 7 PM in your local time zone) so they don't disturb you in the evening or early morning. We respect your schedule.
Can I choose which types of insurance advice I receive?
Currently, all subscribers receive a mix of advice covering auto, health, home, and life insurance. We're working on preference settings so you can customize which topics interest you most. This feature will be available in your account dashboard soon.
How long are the text messages?
Most advice are 1-2 text messages in length (under 320 characters total) and take less than a minute to read. We keep them concise and actionable so you can quickly absorb the information.
Will you send promotional messages or advertisements?
No. We only send educational insurance advice. You won't receive promotional messages, advertisements, or offers from third parties. Our service is purely educational.
Can I reply to the text messages with questions?
Yes! While we can't provide personalized insurance advice, you can reply with general questions and we'll do our best to point you to relevant resources. For specific insurance questions, we recommend contacting a licensed agent.
Privacy & Security
Do you share or sell my phone number?
Never. Your privacy is our top priority. We don't share, sell, or rent your phone number or personal information to anyone. Period. Your data is used solely to send you insurance advice.
What information do you collect?
We collect only what's necessary to provide the service: your phone number and optionally your name/email if you create an account. We may also collect basic analytics (like whether you opened a message) to improve our content, but this data is never linked to your personal identity or shared with third parties.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your information. Your phone number is stored securely and only accessible to authorized personnel who need it to deliver the service.
Can I request deletion of my data?
Absolutely. You have the right to request deletion of your personal information at any time. Simply contact us or text STOP to unsubscribe, and we'll remove your data from our system.
Technical Support
What carriers does HaloText work with?
HaloText works with all major U.S. carriers including Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and most prepaid/regional carriers. If you can send and receive text messages, HaloText will work on your phone.
I'm not receiving messages. What should I do?
Try these troubleshooting steps:
- Check that you haven't blocked our number
- Verify your phone has signal and can receive texts from other numbers
- Make sure you didn't accidentally opt out by texting STOP
- Check your spam/blocked messages folder
- Try restarting your phone
If you're still having issues, contact our support team with your phone number and we'll investigate.
Will this use my mobile data?
No. HaloText uses standard Text text messaging, not data. You don't need an internet connection to receive our advice—just the ability to receive text messages. Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply based on your plan.
Can I use HaloText outside the United States?
Currently, HaloText is only available for U.S. phone numbers. Our content is also specifically focused on U.S. insurance regulations and practices. We hope to expand internationally in the future.
Account Management
How do I unsubscribe?
You can unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP to any message from HaloText. You'll be immediately removed from our list and won't receive any more messages. No questions asked, no hassle. You can also manage your subscription in your account dashboard or by contacting us.
Can I resubscribe after opting out?
Yes! If you previously opted out and want to start receiving advice again, simply text START to our number or visit our sign-up page and re-enter your phone number.
Can I change my phone number?
Yes. Log in to your account dashboard and update your phone number in the settings. If you don't have an account login, contact us with your old and new phone numbers and we'll make the change for you.
Do I need to create an account?
No, you don't need an account to receive Text advice. However, creating a free account gives you access to additional features like managing your preferences, viewing past advice, accessing our full article library, and updating your contact information.
I changed my mind about unsubscribing. Can I pause instead?
Yes! Text PAUSE to temporarily stop receiving messages without fully unsubscribing. When you're ready to resume, text RESUME. This is perfect if you're going on vacation or just need a break from messages for a while.
